About
Dr. Brett H. Mueller II is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist renowned for his expertise in LASIK and cataract eye surgery. In 2024, he founded Mueller Vision LASIK & Cataract Eye Surgery in Fort Worth, Texas.
During his ophthalmology residency at the University of Louisville, Dr. Mueller performed the most phaco cataract surgeries in the history of the program and was elected Chief Resident. He was awarded the Dr. Melvyn Koby Educational Excellence Award as the top graduating ophthalmology resident. He was recognized as a “One to Watch” Eye Surgeon in the United States by YoungMD Connect (2023).
Dr. Mueller’s PhD research at the University of North Texas Health Science Center focused on neuroprotective properties of retinal ganglion cells for glaucoma treatment. He is a recipient of an NIH grant and has authored numerous publications, book chapters, and over 20 presentations at national and international meetings.
Education
Dr. Mueller received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University. He earned his combined D.O. and Ph.D. from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, where he studied neuroprotective properties of retinal ganglion cells. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Louisville (Chief Resident) and a fellowship with the World College of Refractive Surgery and Refractive Surgery Alliance Fellowship Network.
